Do not offer the members of your body to sin as tools of unrighteousness. Instead, offer yourselves to God as those who are alive from the dead, and offer the members of your body to God as tools of righteousness.

As Christians, we are redeemed sinners; our lives are not meant to look the same as our neighbors or as we had lived before. We are called to turn away from sin and not utilize any part of ourselves sinfully. This is a difficult calling. Old habits like to return. As we turn our lives over to God, He is the one who makes changes in our hearts and minds. Yet, Satan will continue to tempt us, and, like Paul, we may find struggles that continue to return or that trouble us in our lives. With these, we are called to turn to our Lord continually and humbly pray for His help through these things. As Christians, we are to be guided in all avenues of our lives by our faith. In our work, we are to reflect our Lord’s glory. With our words, we are to shine out Christ’s praise. With our eyes, we are to admire the beauty of our Father’s creation. With our hands, we are to serve God’s people. With our feet, we are to walk within the paths our Lord prepares for us. Our Lord has given us everything to be utilized to His glory, honor, and praise. This is the hope and the message of our Lord Jesus Christ. In this, we find our peace.

Let us pray. I thank you, my heavenly Father, through Jesus Christ, your dear Son, that you have kept me this night from all harm and danger, and I ask you to protect me this day also from sin and every evil, that in all I do today, I may please you. For into your hands, I commend myself, my body and soul, and all that is mine. Let your holy angel watch over me, that the wicked foe have no power over me. Amen.
