Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not only in my presence, but so much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.
Philippians 2:12, MEV
Faith is lived out in an expression of gratitude for the salvation we have received through Christ’s sacrifice for us. The work of our faith is to shine out the light of Christ in every aspect of our lives. To shine out Christ’s grace and show our gratitude for all that has been accomplished for us. Ultimately, we desire not to be a stumbling block to others in their journey of faith as we all struggle through the difficulties presented to us in this life. We are currently living in enemy territory that is continually attempting to rob us of the promise and seeks to drive us to denial and division. Our Lord seeks to bring unity to us all in the faith and lead us into the eternal bliss of the new kingdom that awaits us all after judgment. Each day, our awareness of the gift will be the light that guides us as it cuts through the darkness that encroaches on us and seeks to rob us of life. Let your life be a life of peace and calm instead of a response to the darkness. Shine out our Lord’s love and light the path to our Lord’s peace.
Let us pray. I thank you, my heavenly Father, through Jesus Christ, your dear Son, that you have kept me this night from all harm and danger, and I ask you to protect me this day also from sin and every evil, that in all I do today, I may please you. For into your hands, I commend myself, my body and soul, and all that is mine. Let your holy angel watch over me, that the wicked foe have no power over me. Amen.
