For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds.

2 Corinthians 10:4, ESV

What are the strongholds of sin in your life? These are the things which our Lord seeks to break down. He utilizes us, His followers, to seek out those strongholds in the world and within the hearts of people that seek a way out and a way into the glorious kingdom of our Lord. He destroys the bastions of worldliness as He utilizes us to reveal the facades that cover the decay hidden in the false promises of the deceiver. The spiritual war that we are caught up in is being won, not by the destructive forces of this world, but through the sacrifice of our Lord, in which He gave His body and blood. As we enter into battle, we are to be reminded that it is not against our neighbors with whom we are at war, but against the spiritual forces that create division and chaos. We are the warriors of God marching on our knees as we cry to the gates of heaven, lifting our prayers on behalf of a fallen creation with our hope centered on bringing all into our Lord’s peace.

Let us pray. I thank you, my heavenly Father, through Jesus Christ, your dear Son, that you have kept me this night from all harm and danger, and I ask you to protect me this day also from sin and every evil, that in all I do today, I may please you. For into your hands, I commend myself, my body and soul, and all that is mine. Let your holy angel watch over me, that the wicked foe have no power over me. Amen.
