The seventy returned with joy, saying, “Lord, even the demons are subject to us through Your name.”

Luke 10:17, MEV

We, who are chosen by God, are able to do great things in the lives of others when we operate in His authority. It is a part of being the priesthood of all believers. The gifts of our Lord are promised to all who belong to Him. Some of those gifts are extraordinary, and some may seem more ordinary, but all are supernatural because they are for the glory of our Lord. As the seventy reported to Jesus, so is it for all who walk out in faith. It is amazing to witness lives transformed by Christ Jesus. Yet, we may miss some of His work as we focus on being the actors instead of seeking to be utilized as His vessels for transformation. Christ’s love for His creation is great, and His desire to set those captive in sin free is overwhelming. It is through His use of us and our obedience to the urgings of the Holy Spirit that we are able to point others to the Father and the salvation given through the Son for all upon the Cross. All this, we are called by Him to do through our lives, so that others may fully come to know His peace.

Let us pray. I thank you, my heavenly Father, through Jesus Christ, your dear Son, that you have kept me this night from all harm and danger, and I ask you to protect me this day also from sin and every evil, that in all I do today, I may please you. For into your hands, I commend myself, my body and soul, and all that is mine. Let your holy angel watch over me, that the wicked foe have no power over me. Amen.
