“I, Jesus, have sent My angel to you with this testimony for the churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, the Bright and Morning Star.” The Spirit and the bride say, “Come.” Let him who hears say, “Come.” Let him who is thirsty come. Let him who desires take the water of life freely.”
Revelation 22:16–17, MEV
“Come!” The invitation of our Lord as He welcomes us into His kingdom. It is the promise of salvation given to all who believe and trust in Him above all else. He desires for us to never worry about our salvation because He has secured it for us. This is the promise to proclaim as we await His return. We are called to welcome all to worship the one true God. He calls us to join Him and celebrate the life that He promises and the freedom He gives to all who are humbled and realize their sins. It isn’t a word of guilt or shame, but a word of welcome. If you are thirsty for the water of life, “Come!” If you are seeking the redeeming waters, “Come!” If you are burdened with shame and guilt, “Come!” In our Lord, we receive a promise of new life and the shackles that bind us all are broken away so we may run to Him and receive His embrace as we are welcomed into His peace.
Let us pray. I thank you, my heavenly Father, through Jesus Christ, your dear Son, that you have kept me this night from all harm and danger, and I ask you to protect me this day also from sin and every evil, that in all I do today, I may please you. For into your hands, I commend myself, my body and soul, and all that is mine. Let your holy angel watch over me, that the wicked foe have no power over me. Amen.
