To the King of the ages, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen.

1 Timothy 1:17, ESV

We worship an eternal God. He exists beyond time. In comic books, shows, and movies, they try to portray characters of a similar nature, but it is truly beyond our imagination, as each fails to capture this reality. An uncreated Creator that enters His creation is even more difficult, but this is our faith. God was, is, and forever will be. For Him, time is a construct created for us, His creatures. One day, we are given a promise to join Him at the end of this creation and in the creation He always intended. It is through His mercy that we exist. This, too, is hard to comprehend. Why would an immortal, perfect God care for imperfect, mortal beings? There is no cruelty in the nature of our God, yet cruelty exists in our hearts and our minds. Our minds are not like the mind of God, but He calls us to Himself. He desires for us to be of one mind with Him, which is why He sent His Son for us. Our calling is to look to the Word and follow His Son, so we may fully know and enter into His peace.

Let us pray. I thank you, my heavenly Father, through Jesus Christ, your dear Son, that you have kept me this night from all harm and danger, and I ask you to protect me this day also from sin and every evil, that in all I do today, I may please you. For into your hands, I commend myself, my body and soul, and all that is mine. Let your holy angel watch over me, that the wicked foe have no power over me. Amen.
