What is the greatest work that Christ performed? He brought healing of souls to people that would bring them into eternal life. We, as followers of Christ, are given this gift of proclamation that is expanded far beyond the boundaries of our Lord Jesus Christ. As our Lord works through us, we are given the power to bring life-changing words that carry the promise of Christ into ears that have not yet heard them. As followers of Christ, we may be blessed to see miraculous healings as we pray over people, but none is greater than the healing of a soul. As we walk in the power of our Lord’s Gospel, it is not the work that we do by our own will and volition, but the power poured out through us by our Lord as the Holy Spirit comes upon the hearers and brings those that are called into the promise. We are given the ability to stand firm in that saving Word and bring promises to the far corners of the world as we walk in the knowledge of our Lord’s peace.

Let us pray. I thank you, my heavenly Father, through Jesus Christ, your dear Son, that you have kept me this night from all harm and danger, and I ask you to protect me this day also from sin and every evil, that in all I do today, I may please you. For into your hands, I commend myself, my body and soul, and all that is mine. Let your holy angel watch over me, that the wicked foe have no power over me. Amen.
