For I know the plans that I have for you, says the LORD, plans for peace and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.
Jeremiah 29:11, MEV
God knew us before we were born and He had a plan for us all. Sadly, we often fail to fulfill the full calling that He has for us and go off on our own and attempt to make our own pathways, but God does not let us go. God will let us wander, but He is always close at hand to help us when we cry out to Him. Some of His plans can be difficult for us to follow because it may mean letting go of some things. When we are not careful to listen and follow our own paths, we will often feel even greater pain and loss in the end. It is in these times of pain and loss the devil attempts to keep us from getting back on God’s path for us and make us believe that we are too far gone. God, however, waits and will often put people in our lives that are meant to guide us back to Him. The reality of our lives is that when things that appear too difficult for us to accomplish, yet, we know that they are in God’s will, if we are faithful our Lord will help us in accomplishing the task and will lead us into His peace.
Let us pray. I thank you, my heavenly Father, through Jesus Christ, your dear Son, that you have kept me this night from all harm and danger, and I ask you to protect me this day also from sin and every evil, that in all I do today, I may please you. For into your hands, I commend myself, my body and soul, and all that is mine. Let your holy angel watch over me, that the wicked foe have no power over me. Amen.
