The calling of every follower of Christ is centered on sharing the Gospel with all people, in all places, at all times. This is the reason that Christ came as He sought to build His Church. The message and the hope that is brought to us come clearly and boldly in the revelation given to us in Jesus Christ and His sacrifice for us all. We cannot deny it, and we cannot stray from it. We are a people sent out. The boundaries are not defined; some of us will be called to do so where we live and are raised, while others will go to other communities, and still others will take the mission to the ends of the earth. In this sense, we are all missionaries. The mission field is ripe, and there are many whose hearts yearn for the Gospel as they seek something more in life. This is our calling as the people of God, as the followers of Christ. The message we carry is life-giving and heart-changing. In this calling, we are given the gift of proclaiming life into the souls of God’s chosen and leading them into Christ’s peace.

Let us pray. I thank you, my heavenly Father, through Jesus Christ, your dear Son, that you have kept me this night from all harm and danger, and I ask you to protect me this day also from sin and every evil, that in all I do today, I may please you. For into your hands, I commend myself, my body and soul, and all that is mine. Let your holy angel watch over me, that the wicked foe have no power over me. Amen.
