If we are faithless, He remains faithful, for He cannot deny Himself.

2 Timothy 2:13, LSB

God is. This is reality, whether we believe it or not. God’s existence does not need to be proved because He is. Those who don’t wish to believe often challenge us to prove God's existence, but that is like trying to prove the existence or nonexistence of space and time. One could argue that any place in the world does not exist because they have never seen it, but does that make it exist any less? Of course not! Our faith is not dependent on ourselves, but it is dependent upon the realization that God is, and we are created by Him. When honest, even the greatest scientist has to admit that all things are created and happenstance is not a good scientific theory, but they struggle with the concept of a creator because it would place them subservient to something greater, and often their rejection is centered on the issues they have with religion and not necessarily with a Creator. As followers of Christ, we can find comfort in the faith of our Lord and know that He holds enough of it for all creation as He seeks to lead all into His peace.

Let us pray. I thank you, my heavenly Father, through Jesus Christ, your dear Son, that you have kept me this night from all harm and danger, and I ask you to protect me this day also from sin and every evil, that in all I do today, I may please you. For into your hands, I commend myself, my body and soul, and all that is mine. Let your holy angel watch over me, that the wicked foe have no power over me. Amen.
