But Peter and John answered them, “Whether it is right in the sight of God to listen to you rather than to God, you must judge, for we cannot but speak of what we have seen and heard.”
Acts 4:19–20, ESV
There will be those who will stand against the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We mustn’t be intimidated by any who attempts to prevent the proclamation of God’s Word, but reveal to all the truth of Jesus Christ and the saving grace given to us by God. Jesus warned us of this reality, and it has been lived by the preachers of the Gospel throughout history. When God’s Word is preached in its purity, it will most certainly offend. Yet, when heard by those who are seeking the freedom given to us in Christ, we will find that many more are set free in its revelations. We are not the ones to determine or decide who will be in and who will be out, but we are called to stand faithfully in the Word. Not a dot or a tittle of the Word is to be changed. Even when popular teachings arise that attract others because they paint a more attractive picture, we are called to stand steadfast in the truth of Jesus Christ. It is here we will find His peace.
Let us pray. I thank you, my heavenly Father, through Jesus Christ, your dear Son, that you have kept me this night from all harm and danger, and I ask you to protect me this day also from sin and every evil, that in all I do today, I may please you. For into your hands, I commend myself, my body and soul, and all that is mine. Let your holy angel watch over me, that the wicked foe have no power over me. Amen.
