For everything created by God is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving, for it is made holy by the word of God and prayer.

1 Timothy 4:4–5, ESV

God does not create trash. Sin makes a mess of everything, but when we pray and apply His Word, all things can be used to His good order. People who have fallen away and done things contrary to His will are restored as we wash them and renew them in our Lord. This is the power of our God. The work He does within the broken and contrite heart is great. He restores hearts that have been crushed. He redeems those that the world has cast away. He redeems and makes holy that which others reject. This is the healing power of Christ. There is no such thing as an unredeemable person because the Holy Spirit may work wonders in the nastiest of souls. Let us not fall for the lies of the deceiver and help us not become caught up in the world’s false narrative, but turn your hearts to God and turn in deeply to His promises as we pray for those who have fallen and seek to be a light that leads those lost into His peace.

Let us pray. I thank you, my heavenly Father, through Jesus Christ, your dear Son, that you have kept me this night from all harm and danger, and I ask you to protect me this day also from sin and every evil, that in all I do today, I may please you. For into your hands, I commend myself, my body and soul, and all that is mine. Let your holy angel watch over me, that the wicked foe have no power over me. Amen.
