Let us not become weary of doing good, because at the appointed time we will reap, if we do not give up.

Galatians 6:9, EHV

Life can become a wearisome day-to-day, and the doldrums of the hours can make us feel like we are not getting anywhere. When doing kingdom work, it can become thankless at times because the results aren’t always what we want, when we want them. It is hard to invest your life into another only to watch them get involved with things that may appear to be leading in a direction away from God. We may never truly know the impact of the seeds we plant in our lifetime. Yet, God calls us to remain focused on Him and not to lose heart and stop doing it. Kingdom work is not about our results, but the results that God brings. A person may seemingly walk away, but end up making an impact for the kingdom in places not imagined. This is contrary to our nature. We like to see the fruits of our labor. We yearn for our efforts to be recognized by others. The call is for us to keep on and know that our Lord sees. He cheers us on. He calls us forward. He brings us into His peace.

Let us pray. I thank you, my heavenly Father, through Jesus Christ, your dear Son, that you have kept me this night from all harm and danger, and I ask you to protect me this day also from sin and every evil, that in all I do today, I may please you. For into your hands, I commend myself, my body and soul, and all that is mine. Let your holy angel watch over me, that the wicked foe have no power over me. Amen.
