Gracious is the LORD, and righteous; indeed, our God is merciful.
Psalm 116:5, MEV
In our deepest times of need, our Lord hears us and does not forget us. This is something we can count on in life. Does this mean we will not know hard times or difficulties? No, but He will carry us through those times and give us the strength to withstand the struggles that we face. It is His mercy that is poured out abundantly, and our acceptance of the promises given to us through His Son that gives hope and peace as He gives us faith to believe and empowers us to know Him and see the fullness of His graciousness and feel His righteousness flow through our lives. His hand at work, strengthening us to withstand all that comes before us. As we look to Him, we will be protected from despair and comforted in our times of grief and mourning. As we look to Him, we can be filled with hope when things seem bleak and walk in joy when our hearts are breaking, and grief is near and ready to engulf us. In these times, we can turn to our Lord and know His peace.
Let us pray. I thank you, my heavenly Father, through Jesus Christ, your dear Son, that you have kept me this night from all harm and danger, and I ask you to protect me this day also from sin and every evil, that in all I do today, I may please you. For into your hands, I commend myself, my body and soul, and all that is mine. Let your holy angel watch over me, that the wicked foe have no power over me. Amen.
