1 Timothy 4:16, LSB
As Paul was warning Timothy, so he reminds us. To some extent, every one of us, as followers of Christ, has a witness we give and we teach to others about our Lord through this witness. We are reminded to be cautious in our daily living and attempt to do all things in such a way as to point others to the Christ we worship. How are people seeing Christ in you? This is something that paints a picture for many. How do we talk about Christ in our day-to-day interactions? Is He present in our conversations? Are our words salted in faith? For some, we may be the only Bible that they read, and our words can be the catalyst to coming to know our Lord’s love for them. Our actions and our words can make a great impact on another’s life. As we focus on our Lord, not only may we change the day for another, but our lives can also be affected. Our attitudes are shaped differently, and our mood can be lifted. What once would have led to negative interaction becomes a moment of positive impact on all of those who witness it. Let our Lord’s teachings guide you in your day, and let them shape you in how you see the world around you and lead you and others into His peace.
Let us pray. I thank you, my heavenly Father, through Jesus Christ, your dear Son, that you have kept me this night from all harm and danger, and I ask you to protect me this day also from sin and every evil, that in all I do today, I may please you. For into your hands, I commend myself, my body and soul, and all that is mine. Let your holy angel watch over me, that the wicked foe have no power over me. Amen.
