In him we have also obtained an inheritance, because we were predestined according to the plan of him who works out everything in keeping with the purpose of his will.
Ephesians 1:11, EHV
“Why?” is a common question when we are struggling or living in a period of uncertainty. With God, we have a purpose and a calling. The richness of that calling is great because our Lord’s assets are limitless. It is for this purpose that we are called to seek after that which He has planned for us. As we lean into the destiny He has planned for us, we will find a greater sense of peace to live that purpose out in our lives. We have a great inheritance that awaits us, as we will all eventually face the judgment seat of our Lord and, for those whom He has called, the greater the glory we will see in eternity as we are able to claim our inheritance promised to us by our Lord. It isn’t like anything we will see in this world. It cannot be compared to anything else in all of creation. As we seek to fulfill the purposes of our Lord, we are partakers in giving the gifts of salvation to those who are suffering and shining out His glory which will only reflect brighter as we will one day hear His glorious praise, “Well done, good and faithful servant!” as we enter into His eternal peace.
Let us pray. I thank you, my heavenly Father, through Jesus Christ, your dear Son, that you have kept me this night from all harm and danger, and I ask you to protect me this day also from sin and every evil, that in all I do today, I may please you. For into your hands, I commend myself, my body and soul, and all that is mine. Let your holy angel watch over me, that the wicked foe have no power over me. Amen.
