The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all. Amen.

2 Corinthians 13:14, NKJV

The triune nature of our God is a mystery for us. Yet, it is meant for our hope and solace to see and understand the grace that comes to us from our Lord, and it all comes through His love for us and the communion that He desires to have with all people. We don’t often think of that word, communion. We speak of community but often treat it as something to be protected from outsiders. Yet, our Lord took us as outsiders and joined us to Himself. He desires this of all humanity, but we often become caught up in things not related to Him. We worry about how we appear and how we approach things because we don’t want to upset some outsiders who may not believe in or trust Jesus Christ, while neglecting to truly live out the Gospel faith that makes us a community, as we stand in communion joined together with our Lord, we can walk in the certain confidence of His love for us and truly know His peace.

Let us pray. I thank you, my heavenly Father, through Jesus Christ, your dear Son, that you have kept me this night from all harm and danger, and I ask you to protect me this day also from sin and every evil, that in all I do today, I may please you. For into your hands, I commend myself, my body and soul, and all that is mine. Let your holy angel watch over me, that the wicked foe have no power over me. Amen.
