Romans 10:10

For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.

Romans 10:10, ESV

Faith begins as the Holy Spirit moves within us and draws us to our Lord. He creates belief, and in that belief we know the justification that comes only from our Lord. As faith blossoms, our mouth is moved to confess the salvation we have received through our Lord. It is a beautiful thing that our God works within His chosen. It is the reality that we belong to God and no other. The power of our confession is that it is given to us by God. As He brings about conversion, we can do nothing but speak of what He has done and celebrate the promise that we have received. As followers of Christ, He brings transformation and promise into our lives. As we grow, He compels us to share this truth with more people and brings us into His peace.

Let us pray. I thank you, my heavenly Father, through Jesus Christ, your dear Son, that you have kept me this night from all harm and danger, and I ask you to protect me this day also from sin and every evil, that in all I do today, I may please you. For into your hands, I commend myself, my body and soul, and all that is mine. Let your holy angel watch over me, that the wicked foe have no power over me. Amen.
