Galatians 5:6

If you'd like to watch click on Pastor Squatch Musings!

For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision matters. Rather, it is faith working through love that matters.

Galatians 5:6, EHV

As the Beatles sang many decades ago, “All you need is love!” When guided by faith in Jesus Christ, love will flow out. The love that we are talking about is not the poor facsimile that we often see in society, but true love is more than just good feelings but a deep abiding commitment for the betterment of another. Paul writes about this in his first letter to the Corinthians. We don’t love only when people do as we want or demand them to do. We love through differences and difficulties. We love when disappointed and hurt. So often, we write off others because they don’t live or believe as we do, and we see the cost that this has on our society. Our works are not what bring us salvation, but our works may shine out the love of our Lord to others who do not yet know Him as their Lord and Savior and bring them into His peace.

Let us pray. I thank you, my heavenly Father, through Jesus Christ, your dear Son, that you have kept me this night from all harm and danger, and I ask you to protect me this day also from sin and every evil, that in all I do today, I may please you. For into your hands, I commend myself, my body and soul, and all that is mine. Let your holy angel watch over me, that the wicked foe have no power over me. Amen.
