For WHO HAS KNOWN THE MIND OF THE LORD, THAT HE WILL DIRECT HIM? But we have the mind of Christ.

1 Corinthians 2:16, LSB

The mind of Christ. What a gift for those of us who follow Him. We are given this through the Holy Spirit as He opens our hearts and minds to hear the Word and brings us together with other followers to pray with and support one another. The power of our Lord’s gift is that He doesn’t leave us on our own to guess, but He will give us the guidance we need when we call to Him. He gives us His Word to reveal to us the depth of His grace and love so we may better discern His direction. This is a great gift and a promise poured out for us in the waters of Baptism. Yet, as our Lord reveals, “the harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few.” So, let us be aware and seek to bring in the harvest and not let the fruits of our Lord rot in the wilderness and be overtaken. Our Lord calls us to “be not afraid” as we are called out in boldness into the world. Let our lives be a witness of our Lord and be the beacon that calls all others to His glory and His peace.

Let us pray. I thank you, my heavenly Father, through Jesus Christ, your dear Son, that you have kept me this night from all harm and danger, and I ask you to protect me this day also from sin and every evil, that in all I do today, I may please you. For into your hands, I commend myself, my body and soul, and all that is mine. Let your holy angel watch over me, that the wicked foe have no power over me. Amen.
