“God is not a man, that He should lie, Nor a son of man, that He should repent; Has He said, and will He not do it? Or has He spoken, and will He not establish it?”

The Bible is the most reliable and consistent book written in history, with minimal variation in manuscripts and consistently maintained throughout the millennia. The character of God does not change from the Old Testament to the New Testament, and our Lord’s mercy is ever prevalent toward His chosen people. God is not answerable to us for not doing things we want Him to do, but we are answerable for our rebellion against Him as our Creator. The power of the Gospel is how He fulfilled His Law through Himself in the sending of His Son into Creation to walk as one of us. More than two thousand prophecies are fulfilled within Scripture, and many through our Lord Jesus Christ. At no point has He forsaken us as His people or forgotten His promises as He consistently calls us away from sin and into His peace.

Let us pray. I thank you, my heavenly Father, through Jesus Christ, your dear Son, that you have kept me this night from all harm and danger, and I ask you to protect me this day also from sin and every evil, that in all I do today, I may please you. For into your hands, I commend myself, my body and soul, and all that is mine. Let your holy angel watch over me, that the wicked foe have no power over me. Amen.
