To the weak I became weak, that I might win the weak. I have become all things to all people, that by all means I might save some.
1 Corinthians 9:22, ESV
The Gospel never changes. The Word is always constant. The world is ever changing. The world is never static. Worldly truth is a moving target and we must understand this when we convey the unchanging truth of Jesus Christ. For the world, what was true five minutes ago, may no longer be true. Many get caught up in the ever changing tides of worldliness and feel as though they are drowning and unable to surface. We, as Christians, are called to listen and seek to understand those trends. We are called to love. Our love is the greatest tool in our tool belt for people because Christian love is centered in Christ and with Christ’s stable promise and the hope presented in the Gospel offers a clear footing so we can walk in the tides of the world and proclaim a message that will ever be true and is always relevant to a world that seeks to exist in irrelevancy. Of course, there will be those who will turn away, but our message is still the same and we may offer peace to some as we are able to bring them into Christ and His eternal love.
Let us pray. I thank you, my heavenly Father, through Jesus Christ, your dear Son, that you have kept me this night from all harm and danger, and I ask you to protect me this day also from sin and every evil, that in all I do today, I may please you. For into your hands, I commend myself, my body and soul, and all that is mine. Let your holy angel watch over me, that the wicked foe have no power over me. Amen.
