Jesus traveled throughout Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every disease and every sickness among the people.

Matthew 4:23, EHV

Teaching and preaching were the priorities of Jesus and continue to be of the Church. With the Word of God comes the greatest healing that can ever be given. It brings newness of life and promise to the soul, and as Jesus came with the Word to the people, He also healed disease and sickness among the people. Healing happened because of the inspiration that the Word filled people with. Some would come to Him, some would be brought, and there may have been others who were within the hearing of the words of Christ. Our sin-sick souls are healed when we hear the proclamation of the Word and are freed from the bondage we find ourselves within. Ultimately, the words of our Lord bring healing to all of Creation as He enters into our lives and brings restoration to our souls. As we await His return, we can withstand the onslaught of sin that bombards us and proclaim into the chaos our Lord’s words of peace.

Let us pray. I thank you, my heavenly Father, through Jesus Christ, your dear Son, that you have kept me this night from all harm and danger, and I ask you to protect me this day also from sin and every evil, that in all I do today, I may please you. For into your hands, I commend myself, my body and soul, and all that is mine. Let your holy angel watch over me, that the wicked foe have no power over me. Amen.
