“God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power. He went around doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the Devil, because God was with Him.”

As Peter preached the truth of the Gospel, the Holy Spirit fell on all those to whom he was preaching. The Gospel of our Lord is powerful, and it is a calling for all of us who belong to Christ to proclaim it. The words of Christ are words of healing. They heal our broken souls and can heal the brokenness within our bodies. Our Lord desires us to pray for those who are ill or need healing. In our prayers, He works, and we may see physical healing; however, when purely proclaimed, we will always see spiritual healing. The power of the Word is not our power, but the power of our Lord working in us and through us. We are not to fearfully go out in prayer, but boldly proclaim His truth that all may come to know the truth. We know that there is only one God – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit – and He is our creator, our redeemer, and our restorer. In Him, we are restored, and in our new life with Him, we will live eternally. Feel His anointing and let Him anoint your tongue with His words of hope, healing, and restoration. May He renew your soul and fill you with His peace.

Let us pray. I thank you, my heavenly Father, through Jesus Christ, your dear Son, that you have kept me this night from all harm and danger, and I ask you to protect me this day also from sin and every evil, that in all I do today, I may please you. For into your hands, I commend myself, my body and soul, and all that is mine. Let your holy angel watch over me, that the wicked foe have no power over me. Amen.
