“Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy.”

Matthew 5:7, ESV

It is amazing how a little mercy can make a great amount of change in the life of another, and in return, your life will also be affected. When we reflect the mercy of our Lord to others, we are different, and our Lord desires for that difference to be lived out. He desires us not to be like the servant relieved of all their great debt and then go after those indebted to them. When we let go of our anger and our grudges and see the gift of our Lord in all things around us, our spirits change, and it will bless us for generations. Sin has a way of destroying lives, but our Lord’s forgiveness is like a fresh flowing stream that feeds and gives life as it washes away all that grime that attempts to take away the beauty and goodness within us. We are a people of mercy because we have received mercy from our Lord. Let us reflect His glory and be a beacon of our Lord’s peace.

Let us pray. I thank you, my heavenly Father, through Jesus Christ, your dear Son, that you have kept me this night from all harm and danger, and I ask you to protect me this day also from sin and every evil, that in all I do today, I may please you. For into your hands, I commend myself, my body and soul, and all that is mine. Let your holy angel watch over me, that the wicked foe have no power over me. Amen.
