The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom. All who do his precepts have good understanding. His praise stands forever.

Psalm 111:10, EHV

We should be more thoughtful of God’s judgment as opposed to what others may think of us in the world. This is a true and good statement, yet how often do we hold back from doing things we know are right because we worry about what others may think, or we just don’t want to get involved? We see this commonly in our world as we have video after video of violent acts being committed, while no one steps in to stop it. We hold back when someone says something we know is not right, just to avoid the confrontation. It, sadly, is a part of our fallen nature. Living in a fallen world means we are regularly confronted with things that are contrary to God and His will. This is where our Lord calls us to pray and seek His guidance in every situation, and pray that He use us to be His light in a world full of darkness. It is through Him that we can affect the lives of others, showing them our Lord’s love and leading them into His glorious peace.

Let us pray. I thank you, my heavenly Father, through Jesus Christ, your dear Son, that you have kept me this night from all harm and danger, and I ask you to protect me this day also from sin and every evil, that in all I do today, I may please you. For into your hands, I commend myself, my body and soul, and all that is mine. Let your holy angel watch over me, that the wicked foe have no power over me. Amen.
