John 14:6

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”

John 14:6, NKJV

There is only one road map to salvation. This is through our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. The Messiah entered our Creation for one purpose and one purpose alone: to shine a light onto the pathway to salvation. We find this way described as narrow and difficult. The difficulty of this journey is centered on the fact that it is not earned through certain achievements. It is not a competition. Not everyone will be welcomed in. Not everyone is chosen, and it is a calling and not a personal decision. There is no simple formula or program that will Christianize the world. Faith is a gift given to us by our Lord. It begins as He gives us belief and draws us to Himself. The promise is first given to us as we are brought to the font and cleansed in the waters of Baptism, led by the Holy Spirit. As we submit ourselves to Him, He is the one who brings change and shines the light onto His pathways of peace.

Let us pray. I thank you, my heavenly Father, through Jesus Christ, your dear Son, that you have kept me this night from all harm and danger, and I ask you to protect me this day also from sin and every evil, that in all I do today, I may please you. For into your hands, I commend myself, my body and soul, and all that is mine. Let your holy angel watch over me, that the wicked foe have no power over me. Amen.
