Thus says the LORD, your Redeemer, who formed you from the womb: “I am the LORD, who made all things, who alone stretched out the heavens, who spread out the earth by Myself.”

Isaiah 44:24, ESV

Our God and Creator is the maker of Heaven and of Earth. His Word is true. He is the promise keeper. The Words of hope He gave through Isaiah to the children of Israel as they were in captivity were fulfilled. He uses broken people to do His will. Not all the people He uses are followers of Him, but He can utilize even the most adamant disbeliever to fulfill His purposes. He continually calls us to Himself that we come to Him as His children and seek Him as our Lord. He desires for us to turn to Him and trust in His promises and remain steadfast in His Word. He calls us to Himself that we may know and proclaim His promises to all who will hear and bring them into His glory. He breaks the will of those who defy Him and ruins their plans, but He brings peace to us who turn to Him and cry out His name as He is our Lord, and through Christ and Christ alone can we know salvation and enter into His peace.

Let us pray. I thank you, my heavenly Father, through Jesus Christ, your dear Son, that you have kept me this night from all harm and danger, and I ask you to protect me this day also from sin and every evil, that in all I do today, I may please you. For into your hands, I commend myself, my body and soul, and all that is mine. Let your holy angel watch over me, that the wicked foe have no power over me. Amen.
