“Let the prophet who has a dream tell his dream. But let the one who has My word speak My word faithfully. What has chaff to do with grain?” declares the LORD.
Jeremiah 23:28, EHV
Prophecy given by God is neither superfluous nor vague, so a prophet will never speak warnings that will not come true unless there is seen true penitence, if it be a warning. Throughout history, there have been those who call themselves prophets who do not speak words from God, though they claim to speak for God. There are many examples of this throughout Scripture. More importantly, we are called to speak and teach the Word of God plainly without embellishment and faithfully without false interpretation. If one is speaking falsehoods or twisting Scripture to suit their desired outcomes, we are to be wary of them, but also aware that we are reminded of the importance of knowing God’s Word. The Bible does not contradict itself, and the Word of God doesn’t waver from point to point. Let the Word be written on our hearts, and let us be ever watchful of falsehood as we seek to be a light that leads others into His peace.
Let us pray. I thank you, my heavenly Father, through Jesus Christ, your dear Son, that you have kept me this night from all harm and danger, and I ask you to protect me this day also from sin and every evil, that in all I do today, I may please you. For into your hands, I commend myself, my body and soul, and all that is mine. Let your holy angel watch over me, that the wicked foe have no power over me. Amen.
