Mark 9:2

If you'd like to watch on Rumble click here or on YouTube click here!

After six days Jesus took Peter, James, and John with him and led them up a high mountain where they were alone by themselves. There he was transfigured in front of them.

Mark 9:2, EHV

Imagine the journey that the disciples of Jesus were led on and then the three who Jesus took with him for special times of prayer. I am sure that Peter, James, and John wondered where it was that Jesus was leading over those six days and the awe that came upon them when, on that high mountain, Jesus was transfigured. To see God the Son in all His glory standing before them with two great figures of the faith. It may seem a small thing at times when we think of the Church that Jesus came to build. It was His primary calling and the calling we are called to continue as His followers. The Word and the faith we hold are meant to stand as awesome displays of our God’s mercy and grace. It is a gift to be able to believe. This is clear when we hear the confusion of so many in the world and the blind pride, they hold in their abilities to affect real change in the world. When a volcano can spew more into the atmosphere in one explosion than all the industries of the world combined, yet we are the ones affecting the environment? When the radiation of the sun can create such a beautiful show in the sky with the Northern Lights, but we are the ones in control? Take a moment and reflect on the awesomeness of our God and know His peace.

Let us pray. I thank you, my heavenly Father, through Jesus Christ, your dear Son, that you have kept me this night from all harm and danger, and I ask you to protect me this day also from sin and every evil, that in all I do today, I may please you. For into your hands, I commend myself, my body and soul, and all that is mine. Let your holy angel watch over me, that the wicked foe have no power over me. Amen.
