A life centered on Christ Jesus is amazing. The spirit that flows out is refreshing and renewing. As we live our lives centered more and more in faith, it is life-changing—not only for us as people but also for the environment around us. A vibrant faith is contagious. It can spread and transform so much. Jesus was preparing His disciples for His crucifixion and subsequent Resurrection and Ascension. His words were not fully understood at the time as He sat and gave them the Sacrament of the Altar. Each of them had witnessed so much and as they had gone out in the communities been able to proclaim the Word and do great acts already. In this, He is also preparing all who would later hear these words. In Christ, our lives are no longer our own, but we are His. We are called to live lives transformed and through Him, we bring transformation into the world. A vibrant faith comes through trusting in Him not just a little but with our whole being and setting aside all things for His glory. As we move through our faith life, this may ebb and flow as the patterns of our day-to-day may wear, which is why we are called to continually fill ourselves by spending time in the Word and with others of strong faith centering our lives in Jesus Christ and living in His peace.

Let us pray. I thank you, my heavenly Father, through Jesus Christ, your dear Son, that you have kept me this night from all harm and danger, and I ask you to protect me this day also from sin and every evil, that in all I do today, I may please you. For into your hands, I commend myself, my body and soul, and all that is mine. Let your holy angel watch over me, that the wicked foe have no power over me. Amen.
