Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.

Hebrews 11:1, ESV

None of us was present when all Creation began, but we are called, by faith, to trust in God and His creating hand. Thankfully, faith is also given to us by our Lord as the Holy Spirit enters us and opens our hearts to trust and believe in all the things which have been revealed to us by our Lord. Faith builds in us a confidence given to us only because He has opened to us His heart, and as we live within the Word, through faith, our Lord reveals more and more of His intentions. If someone has no faith, it is hard to explain, and they may believe that we are walking blindly. However, our Lord does not lead us blindly; He is clear about the direction in which He desires us to go, although we may not fully understand. It is through Him and His guiding hand that we can reflect to others His glory and lead them into His peace.

Let us pray. I thank you, my heavenly Father, through Jesus Christ, your dear Son, that you have kept me this night from all harm and danger, and I ask you to protect me this day also from sin and every evil, that in all I do today, I may please you. For into your hands, I commend myself, my body and soul, and all that is mine. Let your holy angel watch over me, that the wicked foe have no power over me. Amen.
