We know that the law is not given for a righteous person, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for the unholy and the profane, for those who kill their fathers and mothers, for murderers, for the sexually immoral, for sodomites, for slave traders, for liars, for perjurers, and for anything else that is contrary to sound doctrine.
1 Timothy 1:9–10, MEV
For the purely righteous heart, there is no need for the Law because the things that are truly contrary to God would never enter into the mind or the spirit. For all others, the Law stands as a boundary of lines that our Lord seeks to prevent anyone from crossing. Some of those boundaries are clearer than others. Yet, we still know that the tendency is to push boundaries and bend the law. It is a part of our fallen nature. Thankfully, we have the Word of God to guide us and the sacrifice of our Lord to redeem us, but this does not excuse us to sin. Seek our Lord’s Will through prayer and offer up supplications to God for help in times of struggle. He is always near and does not desire that anyone feel hopeless and lost, but gives everyone a path to escape anything that seeks to ensnare us and trap us in the mire of the world’s deception, as our Lord seeks to lead us into His peace.
Let us pray. I thank you, my heavenly Father, through Jesus Christ, your dear Son, that you have kept me this night from all harm and danger, and I ask you to protect me this day also from sin and every evil, that in all I do today, I may please you. For into your hands, I commend myself, my body and soul, and all that is mine. Let your holy angel watch over me, that the wicked foe have no power over me. Amen.
