Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.

Hebrews 13:8, ESV

As quickly as the world is changing, our Lord is constant. There are no new innovations that our Lord is making in order to fit with a new trend or adjustments to what is considered moral because of how people view things in any age. His words and His ways are ever true. We don’t have to wonder what our Lord will believe and do because He has let us know in Scripture. This can be comforting for some, but terrifying for those who wish to redefine Jesus Christ in their image. Our Lord calls us to find our place in Him and let Him be the one who redefines us. As we submit to His will, we will discover that His definition is not necessarily what we may expect, and our view of ourselves and the world will be transformed. We don’t want to be like the world, but set apart from the world as our Lord’s holy people, so we may proclaim His grace to a world struggling to understand itself. We can give those who are questioning everything a solid footing on which to stand, and in all of this, we will bring others to know His peace.

Let us pray. I thank you, my heavenly Father, through Jesus Christ, your dear Son, that you have kept me this night from all harm and danger, and I ask you to protect me this day also from sin and every evil, that in all I do today, I may please you. For into your hands, I commend myself, my body and soul, and all that is mine. Let your holy angel watch over me, that the wicked foe have no power over me. Amen.
